Epson Stylus SX200

CFB_suppliesDesigned for those on a tight budget that are looking for a all-in-one solution to their printer, scanning and copying needs, the Epson Stylus seems like a good bet. It cheap to buy and most importantly cheap to run, Epson SX200 ink cartridges consists of four individual Epson ink cartridges which means you only have to change the colour that has run out and the rest of the colours stay where they are. Genuine Epson printer cartridges contain DURABrite ink which provides high quality documents and lab-quality photos up to A4 borderless that are resistant to water, smudging and fading. The SX200 is a very compact device especially when you consider that it is basically three machines in one. All of the functions the SX200 provides it performs to a good standard but the one thing that it excels at is printing. The SX200 is capable of printing for a wide variety of media and whatever document your printing the quality is second to none. The Scanner functions works very well and it’s a convenient feature to have if you lots of old photos you want to convert to digital format. The SX200’s built-in copier works without the need for a PC which is great for copying documents on a rush. The weakest point of the SX200 is its speed, scanning speed is relative to a device in this price bracket but the printing speed is very lacking and this also affects the speed of copying. Epson claim the SX200 is capable of printing 34ppm but the only way this figure is achievable is if each page has one line of text and the printer is set in draft quality. The real world speed figure for the SX200 is 4ppm which is slow even for a budget multifunction printer. Despite this the SX200 still represents good value for those on a tight budget as long as they don’t need to print large qualities.
